The earth has been blessed with the presence of Marion Henry for 64 years, today. She is the world’s best mom, wife, sister, daughter… everything. I am so glad to be her daughter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

In other news, let’s talk about the weather. This time last week we were in the middle of a snowstorm. Today spring is in the air, and I feel buds and blooms are going to be popping up any second. Wild daffodils are blooming along the roads and the grass is returning to its familiar state of green. We actually hit 78 this past Friday and should be in the 60’s for the next week. Doesn’t the weather know it’s only the end of February?

Related to the weather, my car’s air-conditioning had stopped working late in the fall. With the weather getting warmer, I was considering getting it fixed. On Friday, when it was so stinkin’ hot, I prayed for the air-conditioning to heal itself AND IT DID!! God certainly knows how to provide.

Now I’m off to enjoy my evening at LifeGroup – we didn’t meet last week so I feel like we’ve been apart forever.

Have a wonderful evening!

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I was in undergrad at Bethel, in St. Paul MN, we had a total of ONE snow day. Since coming to Liberty, in Lynchburg VA, finals have been delayed once, and we have had a snow day — that snow day being today! The funny thing is, since living here we’ve had less than a foot of snow TOTAL. School would probably still go on with that much in one fall in Minnesota. I’m not complaining that Virginian’s are wimps! Another thing that makes this ironic is most of the snow has already melted.  9 inches fell over 36 hours, and only patches remain after 10 hours of sunshine.  Before the snow melted, I got outside and played. After all, I am from Minnesota.

The view from the front porch.

Making tracks.

Yes, I, a 23 year old, built a snowman in my front yard.

It felt so good to be soaked to the skin from playing in the snow. It also felt weird to be 23 and playing in the snow in  my front yard by myself. I got over it, though, and had a good time.

I promise tomorrow I’ll stop focusing on snow for my posts, but I couldn’t focus on anything else today! It was great.

PS – I forgot to mention less than three hours after being created, my snowman was dead. As my mom said, he didn’t even get to see the sunset!

A forecast BETTER than anticipated!

SNOW!!!! I’m so giddy, it’s a little ridiculous. I just keep peaking out my window and smiling.

There is about 3 inches on the ground, with 2-4 more to come.

I love driving when snow is coming down, especially because the big flakes smash against the windshield.

This afternoon I put on my boots, and captured the beauty around my house.

There’s already a lot more than when I took this pictures.

I really feel like listening to Christmas music, now, unlike this past December.

I’m going to refrain myself, except for this one song:

Knowing Lynchburg, there’s a high possibility school will be called off tomorrow. We will see!

I hope you had a blessed Sunday and a restful weekend!

Something to look forward to.

Tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day. I’ve been excited about it all day long. You’ll get the details in tomorrow’s post!

Sunday, according to the forecast, has potential for being wonderful as well! Check this out:

Now this Minnesota girl sees snow in the forecast and thinks this:

That was a 20 inch snow storm back home in 2010. (Photo taken by my dad).

Unfortunately, this Minnesota girl has been displaced to Lynchburg so it’ll probably end up like this:

Just a couple of flakes that don’t stick.

Either way, I’m looking forward to it. Honestly, I really hope it’s the normal non-sticking flurry, because this city goes crazy with more than a dusting! I go grocery shopping on Mondays, and would like some eggs to be left on the shelf!

One final thing I am looking forward to is BED. This week has worn me out and I need a lot of energy for my big day tomorrow!

Good night!
